PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
The Leadership for Tomorrow Scholarship
Program has three basic components each participant must complete:
Retreat, Study/Reflection, and Project.
RETREATS:
Each participant will be required to attend 5 mini-retreats over
the duration of their participation in the program. The program
begins with an introductory mini-retreat which is scheduled for
Wednesday, October 15 from 6 - 9 p.m. at St. John Fisher parish in
Auburn Hills. The schedule for all other retreats will be
developed in cooperation with the participants at this opening
retreat.
Subsequent retreats will allow for group
interaction and reflection on each segment of the online sessions:
Connecting to Jesus Christ, Connecting to the Catholic Church,
The Mission of the Church in the World, Connecting to Community.
STUDY/REFLECTION:
The formation portion of the program has been divided into four
online segments to make participation easier on your busy schedule.
Each session can be listened to online and will be available for
download through iTunes. The tentative session descriptions can be
found at
http://leadershipfortomorrow.blogspot.com. Participants will be
expected to complete the sessions and individual reflections in each
segment prior to the applicable mini-retreat.
PROJECT:
To complete the requirements for the $750 scholarship, each
participant will be required to engage in parish life by active
involvement within a project or commission. During this time, it is
expected that the participant will be working with a project
"partner" or "mentor" who will be available to personally support
and assist in the completion of the project requirement. Project
must be completed within one year of the final retreat.
